My Internship at OneCoWork Helped Me Grow Personally and Professionally

Bre Gajewski

10 April 2019

If crying in front of 50 strangers at the OneCoWork Placa Catalunya office during lunch on the last day of my internship doesn’t sum up how I feel about leaving this company, then I don’t know what does.

OneCoWork, more than just a place of work.

I have never worked for a company with such a good soul. OneCoWork puts the happiness of their staff and their members above all else, and at the end of the day, I think that is all that really matters.

As a startup, they are learning and growing immensely and I joined the team during a time where a lot was changing. They were preparing to open a new office, restructuring and adding to the staff and even working without an office for a while.

While challenging at times, our Marketing team rose to the occasion and I feel honored to have contributed to some monumental steps.

This transitional time for the company was mirrored in my own life transition.

In December 2018, I graduated from the University of Alabama with a BAC in Public Relations from one of the top-rated PR programs in the United States. I was feeling lost and confused about my next moves and decided that moving across the Atlantic and trying out a job in something totally different would give me the headspace I needed to make some big decisions about my future.

I came here to grow personally and professionally. OneCoWork gave me the opportunity to learn from different members of the team and try new things. They trusted me to take complete ownership of my projects. I was also given a lot of flexibility to do some exploring across Europe over the past three months, for which I will forever be grateful.

OneCoWork listened to me, cared about my wants and needs and truly wanted to help me figure the “real world”. Above all, they treated all of us interns like teammates.

The value I gained from this internship goes beyond words on a CV.

When I look back at my time at OneCoWork, I will always remember it as an experience that changed my life. Thank you to the staff and the members, for allowing me to join you and for playing such a big role in my journey. Hopefully, I will be back soon!
