Another month has flown by and it’s been an incredibly busy one, packed with events at OneCoWork. Here’s our roundup of what’s happened:
N26 Launch Party
At OneCoWork we’re proud to have the second Europe base of N26 - the revolutionary mobile bank. With their headquarters in Berlin, they found Barcelona - and of course, OneCoWork - to be the ideal place to launch their new base for technological development and more. They’re now on the fourth floor at OneCoWork Plaça Catalunya.
They celebrated their move in with a launch party and seized the opportunity to introduce the first metal contactless card to the European market; N26 Metal.
After months of anticipation, on Thursday 11 October we officially opened the brand-new OneCoWork Terrace at OneCoWork Plaça Catalunya! Taking advantage of the National Spanish Holiday, we kicked off a long weekend with flowing beer, wine and an assortment of light snacks. Members from both OneCoWork locations joined us to meet socially the people working around them - assisted by our Community Management team, who used CoWorking Bingo to stimulate networking!
Each member received a card with ten descriptors - ranging from someone wearing a tie (pretty rare!) to someone who spoke Dutch and from someone in the same industry to someone addicted to netflix. Members then had to meet people who fit those descriptors and once they had a full card, they could enter it to a raffle. The lucky winner won a lunch with our wonderful Community Manager, Patricia!
Arguably the highlight of the month for many, we celebrated the opening of OneCoWork Plaça Catalunya with a party on Thursday 25 October. Guests were invited to drink, eat, dance and enjoy themselves whilst exploring the space. Our DJ, live saxophonist and multiple bars created a great atmosphere and we even had the smybox open photobooth in the Bistro!
What a night! We filled out Mix for an incredible night, raising thousands for charity. I’d add more, but I’m writing this the morning after and things are a little fuzzy. Over the coming months, we'll be launching projects to support the homeless in Barcelona using the funds raised, so keep your eyes peeled!
On those Thursdays and Fridays that we didn’t have incredible parties and weren’t public holidays, we had our usual OneCoWork Afterwork Drinks! These are a great way to network and let your hair down with the people working around you. Friday 26 October featured a special afterworks in which Stacey Matthews, the OneCoWork Marina Port Vell Community Manager, ran special activities to introduce the new cohort of Harbour Space Students to the OneCoWork members.
Erik’s Thrive Series on Personal Branding
Erik Eklund is back with again a 4-part masterclass, but this time it’s about personal branding and how to develop one that is a reflection of your values, beliefs and daily actions. In order to achieve that, the focus of the sessions was identifying who you are and what you want to achieve, not only on a professional level but also on a personal level.
Breakfast Club: Jaimito
Did you know - we are ALL creatives?
Jaimito, a creative agency based on the first floor of OneCoWork Placa Catalunya shared an interactive breakfast club which got everyone involved, helping to create their logo - that's right! The Jaimito logo is unique for its incompleteness and everyone is invited to add to and grow it!
Thank you to Marina for the enjoyable session. For those who missed it, check out the presentation below!
Breakfast Club: Hubbub Labs
Hubbub Labs’ Creative Director George Chilton hosted the Breakfast Club October 23rd. George threw a little twist into his presentation by starting off with a competition. He broke the audience up into two teams and we used our phones to answer timed questions on all things Marketing. Everyone that participated was so receptive to the mix of competition and learning. After the game, George gave a brief presentation on his company, some of the team members, and what they specialize in. Overall it was a fun, creative way to lead a Breakfast Club!
And for those who are more into a high-energy fitness workout, we launched our new bootcamps every Monday evening and Thursday morning, in partnership with Lena from Mo&Mace. These outdoor classes are based on bodyweight, so they're suitable for everyone, and take place in Moll de la Fusta. On Mondays we meet at OneCoWork Placa Catalunya and on Thursdays at OneCoWork Marina Port Vell, before running to the workout location, but for those who prefer to meet the group there... that's fine too! Best of all, the first class is a free trial and OneCoWork Members get a special discount!
Though it's been a busy season and we didn't have sessions every week, our popular rooftop yoga is back on the brand new OneCoWork Placa Catalunya Terrace! This event happens twice a week and provides a great variety - mornings for those who like to start the day with exercise and evenings for those who like to relax after a hard day working!
