At times, you can feel overwhelmed, overloaded and with too much work. This results in losing focus and feeling less motivated. Investing in meditation can help with stress reduction, making better decisions and encourage you to find the energy to complete your daily tasks. It’s something that takes you along a unique journey, where you explore your senses, emotions, and thoughts. Many of us have thought about starting meditation, but don’t know where to begin. This series is designed to help you begin the practice.

What is meditation?

Let’s start off by defining meditation and its capabilities. Many people don’t know the true meaning and the importance of meditation. It doesn’t mean flipping your life around and starting all over as a new found person. It’s all about having a broader perspective and better handling of your emotions. Meditation also allows you to find rest in a busy lifestyle and fast-evolving world. There are all kinds of ways to meditate, there is no holy method that will lead the way, or a right or wrong answer. You need to try things out for yourself and see what works best for you.

Meditation @OneCoWork

OneCoWork will be offering meditation classes from April on. These classes will take place twice a week on the rooftop terrace of OneCoWork Plaça Catalunya. This to give members the time and place to find some peace and set them up for success for the day. Handle your emotions

Every person deals with their emotions in a different way. This could unintentionally result in creating conflicts between employees. A popular example is expressing yourself without putting your words into thought, often resulting in regretting what you said afterward. Meditation is a great way to teach you to take control of situations where you first feel uncomfortable or would usually react in haste. 

Organizing mindfulness related workshops within the company can help your employees gain better control over their emotions, which will lead to an overall more positive vibe in the workspace. By clearing out your distractions and concerns, you’ll create room for thinking, instead of making impulsive decisions. 

Fewer burnouts

Long-term stress can lead to burn-outs, depression and put the health of your employees at risk. Overcome all this negativity is by simply meditating once or twice a week. We tend to overthink and make certain situations seem more stressful than they truly are. By giving yourself some time to find rest will allow you to reevaluate the situation and help you have a more clearer view in foggy situations.

  • Both Yahoo and Apple offer free meditation and yoga classes for their employees who feel overwhelmed by their work. The companies have built meditations rooms in their offices and are both early adopters of the mindfulness business culture.

It’s time for you to stop making excuses and start investing in your health. When it comes to meditation, no special equipment is needed. All you need is clearing a little time in your agenda, finding a suitable space for you to feel comfortable and simply start meditating.
